Conference Wrap Up Review

For all of you who attended the annual Eclipse Network User Group seminars in Las Vegas April 30-May 2, we want to thank you for your support and share herein some of the things we learned and saw. We also have the pictures of our raffle winners — again, thanks to all of you who supported the raffle by buying tickets — and links to Steve Kosmata’s great steno shortcut suggestions, as well as an article by Jeremy Thorne about regular expressions, a feature now in the development version that will be available in the release version in the near future. Regular expressions now can be used as a new method for generating the automatic index that will make it incredibly easy, once the instructions are provided, to generate indexes for our transcripts. And Advantage introduced “skins” for the Passports — see pictures inside — that now provide the steno machine a variety of bold and colorful shells. There was lots of networking among Eclipse users, lots of innovations and information and lots of fun! Perhaps next year those of you who didn’t make it this year, as well as those who did, who come together to share and learn more about the software that we spend much of our lives with.
